Updates: Tonight at Midnight is Deadline to View NSAA Online Rules Meeting Without Paying a Penalty

Just a quick reminder, tonight at Midnight is the deadline to view the Nebraska School Activities Association’s Online Rules Meeting without having to pay the penalty.

I also am trying to get a location booked to have our annual pre-season Nebraska Basketball Officials meeting and Part 1 Test review. I am hoping for next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Registration for the 2020-2021 Metro Basketball Season Scheduled For the Next Two Wednesdays, September 2 and September 9, at Omaha Westside High School Main Lobby, 5:30 to 6:30 pm

Without a doubt, the Coronavirus pandemic has changed things drastically in 2020. But we now have all the Metro Conference High School basketball schedules for 2020-2021, so we need to get everyone registered for the coming winter season.

Registration has been scheduled for this Wednesday, September 2, and the following Wednesday, September 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, in the main front lobby at Omaha Westside High School. These will be the only registration times before our pre-season meeting which will be scheduled in October. The next two Wednesdays are for registration only. They will not include any meetings. You must wear a mask to enter the lobby and sign up, and also honor social distancing guidelines.

Nebraska Basketball Officials Varsity Assignor Al Monaco will begin assigning games after Wednesday night. In order to be entered into the Arbiter database, you must be registered and pay your $60 dues by cash or check for the 2020-2021 season. Lower level assignor Brent Robinson will begin assigning games in October.

A registration form will be posted on this website, as well as on the osarefs.com website. It can be printed out, filled out, and brought to the signup. We will also have forms at registration, but encourage you to fill them out prior to avoid long lines.

If you have any questions, feel free to email, text, or call NBO assignors Al Monaco (402-525-0699, Monaco.nbo@gmail.com) or Brent Robinson (402-618-2859, Robinson.nbo@gmail.com).

Notice: Spring Nebraska Basketball Officials Tip-Off Meeting Scheduled Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 pm at Omaha Burke High School Cafeteria

All,
The annual Spring Tip-Off Meeting for Nebraska Basketball Officials will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m., in the Omaha Burke High School Cafeteria.
We will go over a recap from the 2018-19 season and relay feedback we received from the Metro Conference Athletic Directors. We will also talk about the upcoming 2019-20 season and give you new information on conference expansion and what it means to our officials.
We would encourage you to bring a blank check or cash that evening to sign up for the upcoming season. I have included a sign up sheet with this email to fill out beforehand to save time. We will also be taking availability and applications for the NBO 3-person mechanics clinic that will be held Saturday, June 1, during the Omaha Bryan Varsity Team camp. I will also need officials that weekend for games that aren’t part of the clinic. We will also be taking availability that night for our Monday Night Girls League at Papillion High School and the Monday Night Boys League at the Union Bank and Trust Sports Complex.
My assistant, Brent Robinson, will also go over opportunities he will have this summer with AAU events. He will also go over lower level feedback and take questions for the upcoming season.
I would also like to answer questions this evening. I hope to keep the meeting right around an hour.
We are looking forward to another successful season.
