Nebraska Basketball Officials Youth Division To Feature Conqueror League Basketball and Numerous Tournaments in 2024-25

Happy Labor Day!

With the start of September comes thoughts of the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons and with that comes the sounds of the gym and bouncing basketballs.

We have an exciting announcement! We are back to having youth basketball just about every weekend for officials from October to March.

Officials previously involved with Nebraska Basketball Officials will have multiple opportunities to officiate youth games during the Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer of 2024/25 with our new Youth Basketball Division.

Our association with Elkhorn Attack and Elite Basketball will be adding Conqueror League Basketball games this Fall and Winter. In the neighborhood of 400 teams are anticipated to play in the league originally founded by Jon Jensen, which will now be administered by Todd and Dannye Jakopovic of Elkhorn Attack and Elite. Games will be played at various Elkhorn area gyms. The Conqueror League runs a fall and winter season, with games starting in October and going through February. As has been the tradition of Conqueror League Basketball, there will be no admission fees for parents and fans, keeping the emphasis on the player first.

Besides Conqueror League games, the Elkhorn Attack and Elite Basketball organization will host 17 to 20 weekend tournaments throughout the fall and winter season. These tournaments offer further opportunities for both youth players and our NBO family of officials.

Pay for officials for all Conqueror League Basketball and Elkhorn Attack and Elite Tournaments will be $30 per game. NBO officials will NOT be charged any membership fees and will NOT be required to sign any contracts. Other tournaments that our members work will be paid according to the type of tournament. Stop clock, AAU-style tournaments will pay more.

We will continue to use the NBOStripes website (www.nbostripes.com) to post availability requests and weekend schedules. Brent Robinson, Jim Sauer and Rod Suggitt will be handling NBO administration and assigning for the league and tournaments.

With games beginning in October, we plan to have a meeting this fall, prior to the start of the season. If you have questions, you can text or call Robinson at 402-618-2859; Sauer at 402-215-1740; or Suggitt at 402-690-3180.

Enjoy the beautiful weather and we will see you on the court soon!
