Happy President’s Day! I just wanted to remind everyone that because of President’s Day, all Direct Deposits will be delayed one day this week. You should expect to be paid Wednesday this week, instead of Tuesday. Next week we will be back on the regular schedule.

The Nothin’ But Net Tournament sponsored by Elkhorn Attack and Elite, as well as Conqueror Basketball League, have games scheduled Friday Night, Saturday and Sunday, February 21, 22 and 23. Please text your availability for games to Brent at 402-618-2859 or Jim at 402-215-1740.

The Nothin’ But Net tourney will once again feature shorter games scheduled every 55 minutes on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Games Friday night will start at 5:30 pm at Union Bank and Trust Sports Complex2 South and will feature 5 game slots at 5:30, 6:25, 7:20, 8:15 and 9:10. Games at Trinity Classical Academy on Friday night will run at 6:15, 7:10, 8:05 and 9:00.

Saturday Nothin’ But Net tourney games will start at 8:00 a.m., with last games at 8:50, at both UBT2 South and TCA. Sunday tournament games start at 8:00 a.m, with last games at either 6:05 or 7:00 p.m.

Conqueror Basketball League games will run at regular times on the hour both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 8:00 a.m.

You will notice there are some time slots still available for this weekend. These games will be filled on a first come/first serve basis. Please contact Brent at 402-618-2859 to pick up any of these time slots.

When you confirm, please text the day, venue, court and time that you have been scheduled.

Please note that all officials should report to their game site at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Games at Union Bank and Trust Sports Complex have experienced parking delays. That is not an excuse, however, for being late for your game. Plan ahead and give yourself at least 15 minutes to find a parking place and arrive before your scheduled tip-off.

Please also note that our dress code is to wear predominantly black shorts or sweatpants, with Stripes TUCKED IN. You can wear any color comfortable athletic shoes.

If you want to work a bunch of games over our busiest weekend of the Winter season, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 14, 15 and 16, is going to give you a great opportunity. The Annual Battle of the Borders Tournament, sponsored by Elkhorn Attack/Elite and the Bennington Basketball Association will be held on various courts. The Conqueror Basketball League (CBL) will be played on its normal 8 to 10 courts Saturday and Sunday. We will take as many officials as possible wanting to work courts all day on Saturday and Sunday. We will have 27 courts going per hour on Sunday. Courts being used for the Battle of the Borders tournament will include Bennington Elementary, Bennington High School, Bennington Middle School, Bennington South Middle School, Elkhorn Middle School, Going Vertical, Bowlero (The Mark) and Trinity Classical Academy in Waterloo. Courts being used for CBL games will be Elkhorn North Ridge Middle School, Elkhorn Ridge Middle School, Elkhorn Valley View Middle School, West Bay Elementary, West Dodge Station Elementary and Elkhorn Grandview Middle School.

We will give courts to those wishing to work all day on Saturday and Sunday. All courts Friday night will have 3 to 4 games per court.

We are getting an early start gathering availability for everyone. Games will be played Friday night at 6,7,8,9 pm. Saturday games will run from 8 am until about 6 pm. Then, with Sunday’s big game starting around 5:30, last games will be scheduled no later than 3 pm, meaning everyone can be home by around 4 or so.

Once again, parking continues to be a timing issue at Union Bank and Trust Sports Complex2 South. It is taking 10 or 15 minutes to find close parking at the venue. Please don’t cut it too close and put your partner in a tough spot working games solo. Come early, please.

One important reminder on parking at the Union Bank and Trust Sorts Complex — please give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the facility and find a parking spot. You cannot expect to just show up 5 minutes before game time and be on time.

Looking ahead, the weekend of Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, February 7, 8 and 9 will be Super Bowl weekend. Plans are for ALL games to be done by 4 pm on that Sunday.

Please note, our most requested times are Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday mornings. We are not able to honor all of those requests. However, if you give us availability after 12 noon into the evenings, on either Saturday or Sunday, we are 90 percent able to honor those requests, especially if you give us some flexibility in your hours. We assigned games to over 100 officials last weekend. We thank you for your loyalty and dedication.
